Virginia Beach has all the attractions of a bustling beach resort, but small-town charm, historic landmarks and an extensive park system make it much more than just a beach.
Virginia Beach boasts its seafood, shopping, sand, and sun! There are over 40 restaurants to choose from along the boardwalk, most of which offer fresh local seafood dishes to enjoy in the salty air. From specialty shops to beachy boutiques, the area will keep shoppers busy by the beach!
Stroll the boardwalk packed with entertainment and outdoor cafes. Venture out to sea where aquatic activities abound. With 210 city parks, 11 golf courses, 3 mile boardwalk, and the "longest pleasure beach in the world", Virginia Beach makes it hard to stay indoors. Ties to maritime history are celebrated thoughout the city at the Military, Naval and Coast Guard Monuments and Museums, open year round.
Besides getting your feet sandy, the Virginia Beach area offers plenty of sights and activities indoors and out. Artful eyes can peruse galleries at The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Music lovers can catch a concert right on the beach at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. Marine enthusiasts will love the Aquarium & Marine Science Center, as well as adventuring on dolphin tours and seasonal whale watching.
Virginia Beach was established in 1607 when pioneer John Smith crossed the Atlantic Ocean and arrived at the landing site which he named Cape Henry after the Prince of Wales. Shortly after, the Cape Henry lighthouse was constructed to guard entryway into the Chesapeake Bay. This octagonal stone structure is the oldest government-built lighthouse in America.
Located at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia Beach opens up to the Atlantic Ocean, where you can catch a dolphin sighting year-round and whale-watching seasonally. The city's annual Neptune Festival draws more than 500,000 people to the oceanfront, where fun abounds under the sun!

At the end of each day, everyone at Kool Smiles knows they've accomplished something that matters—something that makes a difference in the world—a positive change in the lives of children and their families.
Having the right dentist makes all the difference in the world. Our dentists share a common bond: they are passionate about providing quality dental care to families. All of our dentists go through Kool Smiles training upon hire and continue to receive company sponsored continuing education. Many of our dentists are active in both local, regional, or state dental associations, serve on Medicaid advisory boards, and participate in national associations such as American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Kool Smiles is committed to expanding access to quality dentistry and oral healthcare services in underserved communities.
Lack of healthcare coverage, or being enrolled in the Medicaid program, should not undermine an individual’s access to vital dental services.
80% of the nation’s 179,000 practicing dentists refuse to provide care to Medicaid enrollees.
We’ve partnered extensively with local schools, daycares and community organizations to provide much-needed oral health screenings and supplies, free of charge. In 2012 alone, Kool Smiles provided over $18.5 million in dental services to children with no form of payment for those procedures, simply because it was in the best interest of the children and their health.
In addition to strong clinical oversight, Kool Smiles has implemented an advanced electronic health records (EHR) system that is used in every Kool Smiles office across the country to measure and report on clinical compliance. The system is closely monitored by our dental clinical leaders to assure all dentists are in compliance with professional standards as well as ADA and AAPD guidelines.
